Decades of Experience in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine
Board-certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care Medicine, Dr. Furman has extensive experience treating patients with both common and highly complex pulmonary conditions.
After attending St. George’s University School of Medicine, Dr. Furman continued his medical training at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Chicago and the University of Chicago Medical School, as well as Wayne State University and Detroit Medical Center.
His passion for pulmonology led him to pursue advanced training in critical care medicine and interventional pulmonary techniques, with expertise spanning intensive care medicine, general pulmonology and advanced interventional pulmonary procedures.
Dr. Furman has specialized training in techniques including electromagnetic navigation bronchoscopy, bronchial thermoplasty, airway stenting and valve placement, cryobiopsy, fiducial marker placement and other advanced airway and pulmonary procedures.
Throughout his career, he has also remained involved in research and education, attending and presenting at conferences nationally and internationally, including the American Thoracic Society. His work has included helping to develop and popularize ultrasound training techniques to guide vascular access procedures, with the goal of improving the patient experience.
